Whole-class Ensemble Tuition (WCET)

Through whole-class teaching you can ensure that every child has an opportunity to learn to sing, play an instrument and create music together in class time. Our WCET programme is designed to spark children’s musical curiosity through playing, singing, listening, creating and performing.

  • Every primary school is eligible for one* subsidised First Access package, saving 15%
  • For 2023/4 we are including the offer of a live music performance for your school from a small group of our teachers.

High Quality: our programmes are designed to be a key part of your school’s curricular music offer and support the National Plan for Music and the Model Music Curriculum. Our team of professional specialist teachers are fully DBS checked, undergo annual Safeguarding training, and are supported by regular training and quality assurance.

Lesson length: 45 minutes

Weekly programme

Group Size: 1 class

Minimum Delivery: 1 year = 33 sessions / 1 term = 10 sessions

  • Whole class ensemble tuition should be a key part of your school's curricular music offer
  • A member of your school staff is needed to support the delivery of the programme – with the opportunity to develop their own skills
  • The first half term will focus on musicianship skills, including singing, while instruments are introduced
  • Each school is entitled to 1 WCET programme at the reduced (ACE grant funded rate) for one year group (mixed year groups for small schools).
