The Old Castle

Victor painted an Italian castle on a hill.

Unfortunately, the picture is lost.

We know he added a minstrel, singing outside the castle walls.

Some people think Mussorgsky’s music for the castle sounds rather creepy.

Perhaps the minstrel is a ghost?
